#### Directions to Down Yonder Pool Villa
You will likely arrive at the main ferry dock if coming from Red Hook or the Creek (across from the National Park Dock) if coming from Crown Bay. Below are the driving directions from Cruz Bay. It’s best to rely on these directions rather than GPS. Remember, KEEP LEFT.

**Directions:**
- Find the Roundabout at the center of Cruz Bay.
- Take the exit for Route 104 (South Shore Road).
- Pass O'Connor Car Rental on your right and the Amore Center on your left.
- Continue past the Marketplace shopping center, EC gas station, Pine Peace Market, and up Jacob’s Ladder.
- Pass the Racetrack gas station and St. John Market on the left, and the Westin Resort on your right.
- Approximately 0.4 miles past the Westin, pass Chocolate East Road on the right.
- In a tenth of a mile, take the next LEFT onto Traveler’s Trail and veer left again into the Villa entrance. At the gate, type in the gate code (emailed to you before check in). The gate opens slowly so please, be patient.
- Proceed up the driveway (the lower driveway is for the Garden Suite) to the parking area adjacent to your front door.
- The lockbox with the code (emailed a week before check-in and again a day before) is to the left of the front door.

#### Amenities and Usage Guidelines

Electricity

Get the most out of the solar power! Since the villa is powered by solar energy, we kindly ask for your help in conserving energy, especially with the AC. Our electricity company, Water and Power Authority (WAPA), is known to have unexpected outages and occasional rolling blackouts, so conserving solar power is key to ensuring you have electricity throughout your stay.

Here are a few tips to make the most of the solar power:

• AC Usage at night: Please run the AC primarily in the bedroom while you sleep, and turn off the living room AC overnight. When you’re not home, avoid running unnecessary AC to allow the solar panels and batteries to charge fully.

**Smart TV**
Your TV has several free streaming options, including Netflix and Hulu.

**Safe**
Located in the hall bathroom. Use the black key on your key ring to unlock and lock the safe.

**Washer and Dryer**
Please do not overload. Detergent is provided. Remove lint from the dryer screen after each use. Daytime Laundry: It’s best to do laundry during the day when the solar energy is at its peak, as this minimizes the draw from the battery.

**Sand**
Please rinse off sand using the hose outside your entrance and leave sandy items outside to prevent bringing sand inside. Use the hooks on the coconut tree to hang wet towels.

**Water Conservation**
St. John has limited fresh water. Please conserve water by turning it off when not in use, taking short showers, and following the guideline: “In this land of sun and fun, we never flush for number one.” Report any leaks immediately.

**Water/Cistern**
Rainwater is collected in cisterns under the house. If the power goes out, do not use any water to avoid draining the pump.

**Drinking Water**
The Villa has whole-house water filtration. The additional filtration at the kitchen sink faucet provides drinking water. Let it run for 30 seconds before filling bottles.

**Power**
Electricity is expensive and occasionally goes out. Down Yonder Villa has 40 solar panels and six back up batteries. You should have no issues but it is smart to conserve incase we aren’t having a sunny day! Please turn off lights and TV when not in use. In the unlikely event of an outage, do not use water or flush toilets.

**Ceiling Fans**
Leave ceiling fans on when you leave the home. If the Great Room fans are not effective, check if the direction was inadvertently reversed. Turn off the fans temporarily when using the gas stove.

**BBQ Grill**
Use caution. Close the gas valve after cooking and replace the cover once cooled.

**Blender/Coffee Maker**
Instructions for the Ninja blender and Keurig coffee maker are provided. Additional K-cups and regular coffee are available for purchase on the island.

**No Smoking**
This is a non-smoking property, including pool deck. If you must smoke, do so outside and away from the house.

**Neighbors**
Be respectful of the neighbors by keeping noise to a reasonable level.

**Insects and Other Animals**
- **Mosquitoes and No See-Ums**: Keep screens and doors closed. Use the electric mosquito swatter if needed.
- **Iguanas**: Do not feed them or throw food items outside.
- **Ants**: Keep countertops and sinks clean, wash dishes immediately, avoid bringing food into bedrooms, take out trash nightly, and store food in sealed containers or the fridge.

**Garbage**
Place trash in the driveway receptacle located by the stone wall down the two stone steps. Take it out before bed to avoid attracting bugs.

**Pool**
The pool is serviced before you arrive.

**Landscaping**
Alfredo’s tends the gardens. Compliments are appreciated if you see them working.

**Security and Locking Up**
Close and lock sliders at night and when leaving. Lock your rental car and roll up windows.

**Check-out**
Check-out is at 10 am. Please help prepare for the next guests by:

- Leaving both sets of keys and gate openers in the villa
- Stripping the beds and leaving used linens on the floor
- Placing trash in the driveway receptacle
- Loading and starting the dishwasher
- Leaving ceiling fans on high
- Leaving leftover food and drink in the fridge
- Ensuring all beach items are at the home
- Leaving keys in the lockbox and shuffling the numbers to lock
